Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Jaden Rashada has announced his intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal, marking his second transfer in as many years. Rashada, a former four-star recruit from Pittsburg, California, began his collegiate career at Arizona State University in 2023, where he started three games as a true freshman, throwing for 485 yards and four touchdowns.
In April 2024, Rashada transferred to the University of Georgia. However, he did not see any playing time during the 2024 season, serving as a backup to quarterbacks Carson Beck and Gunner Stockton.
Rashada’s collegiate journey has been tumultuous. Initially, he committed to the University of Florida but requested a release from his National Letter of Intent after a significant name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal fell through. In May 2024, he filed a lawsuit against Florida head coach Billy Napier and a booster, alleging fraud and breach of the purported $13.85 million NIL agreement.
As Rashada enters the transfer portal again, he aims to find a program where he can compete for playing time and further develop his skills. His decision to transfer comes ahead of the spring portal window, providing him with an opportunity to join a new team before the 2025 season. Given his talent and potential, Rashada is expected to attract interest from multiple programs seeking a dynamic quarterback.
