In a major recruiting shake-up, Golden Flashes, a five-star quarterback and one of the top prospects in the 2025 recruiting class, has officially flipped his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs, leaving the Tennessee Volunteers and Clemson Tigers in disappointment. The elite signal-caller made the announcement on Tuesday, sending shockwaves across the college football landscape.
Flashes was previously committed to Tennessee, where he was expected to be the future of Josh Heupel’s high-powered offense. Clemson, a late but aggressive contender, had also been pushing hard for his signature. However, after a recent visit to Athens and conversations with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, the dynamic quarterback decided to take his talents to the Bulldogs.
In his announcement, Flashes pointed to Georgia’s winning culture, quarterback development, and strong NFL pipeline as the key factors in his decision.
“This was not an easy choice, but after a lot of thought and discussion with my family, I am proud to announce my commitment to the University of Georgia. Tennessee and Clemson showed me nothing but love, and I have the utmost respect for both programs, but I believe Athens is the best place for me to grow as a player and person,” Flashes wrote on social media.
This is a monumental recruiting win for Georgia, as Flashes is regarded as one of the most talented quarterbacks in the country. The Bulldogs have built a powerhouse program under Kirby Smart, and adding a five-star quarterback like Flashes only strengthens their championship aspirations.
For Tennessee, the loss is a tough pill to swallow, as Heupel had invested significant time in recruiting Flashes to be the future face of the Vols’ offense. Clemson, too, had ramped up their efforts late in the cycle, hoping to steal him away.
With Flashes now committed to Georgia, the Bulldogs continue to assert their dominance in recruiting, securing yet another elite quarterback to lead them into the future.
