The Manning family is now fully committed to NIL— and, it seems, to self-driving taxis as well.
Texas quarterback Arch Manning teamed up with his father, Cooper, and family patriarch, Archie, in a humorous new Uber ad promoting its self-driving taxi fleet in collaboration with Waymo, which was released on Instagram on Tuesday.
The ad is part of Uber’s Tuesday morning launch with Waymo, introducing a fleet of autonomous, self-driving taxis in Austin, home to the University of Texas. Austin becomes the second city to join the Uber-Waymo partnership, following Phoenix.
Cooper Manning begins the commercial by asking his 75-year-old father the name of their driver as the camera pans to an empty driver’s seat as a confused Archie responding: “Uh, I don’t see a driver.”
Cooper then directs his next question to his son, Arch, who is expected to take over as the Longhorns’ starting quarterback in 2025 after two seasons as the backup to Quinn Ewers.
