Texas tight end Amari Niblack has officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3. Pete Nakos confirmed the development following reports about Niblack’s intention to transfer.
Niblack played in nine games for Texas during the 2024 season, recording five receptions for 33 yards. He joined the Longhorns after beginning his collegiate career at Alabama.
Although Niblack had limited playing time this season, he made notable contributions during his tenure at Alabama. A four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 3 tight end in the 2022 class by the On3 Industry Rankings, he joined the Crimson Tide as a highly regarded prospect.
During his two seasons at Alabama, Niblack appeared in 24 games, starting five of them. He proved to be a reliable receiving option in 2023, recording 20 receptions for 327 yards and four touchdowns.
Although there were high expectations for Niblack to play a significant role in Texas’s offense this past season, that did not materialise. Now, he has entered the transfer portal again, seeking an opportunity to become a key contributor elsewhere.
