ITexas A&M secured a commitment from a top prospect in the 2026 class on Saturday afternoon.
The Aggies received a verbal commitment from 4-star tight end Caleb Tafua, a California native who had offers from top programs like Alabama, LSU, Georgia, and others. Tafua’s final four included Washington, USC, and Cal.
Although Tafua won’t be able to officially sign with the Aggies for another year or so, this is still a significant recruiting victory for Mike Elko and the Texas A&M staff.
Tafua is currently ranked as the No. 241 overall player and the No. 11 tight end in the nation for the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is also the No. 27 player from California.
Tafua currently attends Lakewood High School in Lakewood, California, and is listed at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds. He received an offer from Texas A&M in May of this year.
Texas A&M has made an impressive start to the class of 2026, already securing 8 commitments. The group is currently ranked No. 2 nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
