Ohio State has secured a significant commitment from Maxwell Riley, a four-star interior offensive lineman from Avon Lake, Ohio. Riley, standing at 6-foot-3.5 and weighing 265 pounds, chose the Buckeyes over Clemson, among other offers from prominent programs like Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Penn State.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Riley stated, “As a kid from Avon Lake, Ohio, it was always my goal to play for the world-famous Ohio State Buckeyes.”
Riley’s commitment is a notable achievement for Ohio State’s offensive line coach, Tyler Bowen, marking his first major recruit in the 2026 class. The Buckeyes extended an offer to Riley in March 2023, reflecting their long-standing interest in the in-state talent.
Riley becomes the fifth commitment for Ohio State in the 2026 recruiting cycle, joining other notable prospects such as five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., wide receiver Jaeden Ricketts, cornerback Jakob Weatherspoon, and tight end Corbyn Fordham.
This commitment underscores Ohio State’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its offensive line and maintain its competitive edge in collegiate football.
