On Monday, Brian Howell of Buffzone reported that Sanders and Colorado’s athletic director, Rick George, have talked about a contract extension.
Howell stated, “I met with Colorado AD Rick George, who mentioned that he and head football coach Deion Sanders have had talks about a contract extension and will continue discussions once the season ends. After this year, Sanders has three years left on his original five-year contract.”
When Sanders took over the program in December 2022, he and Colorado agreed to a five-year, $29.5 million deal. Under the current contract, Sanders’ salary for 2024 is $5.7 million, with an annual increase of $200,000 for the remaining years on the deal.
