Florida State kicks off its football season with a challenging matchup against Alabama’s Crimson Tide in Tallahassee on August 30. Alabama enters the game after a 2024 season where they narrowly missed a spot in the latest College Football Playoff (CFP), finishing as the first team out.
Despite entering the season with a top-10 preseason ranking, the Seminoles stumbled to a disappointing 2-10 record following their impressive 13-1 campaign the previous year.
With both teams experiencing setbacks in 2024 — though to varying extents — 247Sports college football analyst Brad Crawford called Alabama’s season opener an “absolute must” for the Crimson Tide if they hope to get back into the national title conversation.Both teams will feature new quarterbacks following the departures of DJ Uiagalelei and Jalen Milroe. Florida State added transfer Thomas Castellanos from Boston College to help fill the void. Meanwhile, Alabama’s starting quarterback remains uncertain, though new head coach Kalen DeBoer has a veteran option in fourth-year signal-caller Ty Simpson.
