Clark Lea, the head coach of Vanderbilt, will speak Monday morning at a coaches’ conference.
Since the 2021 season, Lea, 43, has served as head coach at Vanderbilt. His best season to date was 2024, when the Commodores defeated Alabama, finished 7-6, and won the Birmingham Bowl.
The head coach of college football, a former Vanderbilt fullback, has high expectations for his players. He will discuss them on Monday.
Lea demonstrated this with an example. He disclosed that while the Commodores were abroad, their facility was utilized by an unidentified NFL team. However, the NFL team left things in a very bad state.
This was an instance of “external vandalism” to the program, according to Lea. People outside the program cannot be expected to have the same standards as those inside, he said.
Doug Samuels posted, “Internal vandalism to external vandalism,” on X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter.
“While they were away, they let an NFL team use their facility. A player who was hurt stayed behind and sent Lea this photo. An illustration of exterior vandalism is this. It is unrealistic to expect external parties to adhere to the same standards as program participants. Here’s another instance of outside vandalism that Lea employs.
Going into the 2025 season, Vanderbilt is undoubtedly setting the proper bar for its athletes.
Conversely, the NFL team that utilized the Commodores’ locker room most likely needs a refresher on proper locker room hygiene and regulations.
During the 2025 season, Vanderbilt will try to advance even further.
