Hejny, a four-star recruit from the 2024 class, hails from Aledo, Texas. During his high school career, he showcased his dual-threat capabilities by passing for 2,773 yards and 27 touchdowns, while also rushing for 1,041 yards and 13 touchdowns in his senior year.
In his freshman year at TCU, Hejny appeared in four games, focusing primarily on the ground attack with 15 carries for 65 rushing yards, and did not attempt any passes.
At Oklahoma State, Hejny will reunite with offensive coordinator Doug Meacham, who previously held various coaching roles at TCU. Additionally, he was recruited by Oklahoma State’s quarterbacks coach Kevin Johns, who was formerly at Duke.
Hejny joins a competitive quarterback room that includes redshirt freshman Zane Flores, redshirt sophomore Garret Rangel, and true freshman Maealiuaki Smith. With the departure of 2024 starting quarterback Alan Bowman, who has declared for the NFL Draft, Hejny’s arrival adds depth and talent to the position.
Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds, Hejny has four years of eligibility remaining, providing Oklahoma State with a promising prospect for the future.
His transfer is expected to enhance the Cowboys’ offensive strategies, offering a versatile option capable of contributing both in the air and on the ground.
Oklahoma State fans and coaching staff are optimistic about Hejny’s potential impact as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
