
Florida linebacker Shemar James has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, announcing his decision on Thursday.
A Mobile native and former Faith Academy standout, James recorded 64 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two sacks for the Gators during the 2024 season. A four-star recruit from the 2022 class, he had one year of college eligibility left.
James shared the news through an Instagram post.
The 6-foot-2, 212-pound Shemar James appeared in 34 games over three seasons at Florida, amassing 165 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, five sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception.
The deadline for underclassmen to enter the 2025 NFL draft is Jan. 6, though players have until Feb. 7 to withdraw from consideration. The draft takes place April 24-26 in Green Bay.
