Four-star cornerback RJ Sermons is continuing a family tradition at USC, as his father played as a running back for the Trojans from 1994 to 1997. Growing up, Sermons enjoyed watching highlights of his father alongside iconic USC players like Reggie Bush and quarterback Matt Leinart. He also admired the performances of cornerback Adoree’ Jackson and wide receiver Tyler Vaughns in the cardinal-and-gold.
RJ Sermons was highly sought after by some of the top programs in the nation. However, USC head coach Lincoln Riley and his staff secured a significant victory in the recruiting race for the talented in-state prospect. The 6-foot-0, 180-pound cornerback has officially committed to the Trojans.
“USC feels like the best fit for me, my family, and my future,” RJ Sermons shared with On3. “I appreciated the authenticity from everyone on the staff and throughout the program. They were genuine from the start and made it clear that I was a priority. The opportunities USC offers, both on and off the field and in the classroom, are outstanding. My family also played a significant role in helping me make this decision.”
