Former UCLA and Cal receiver J.Michael Sturdivant has committed to transfer to Florida, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Sturdivant, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound redshirt junior, will have one season of collegiate eligibility with the Gators.
Sturdivant is the No. 26-ranked transfer receiver in the 2025 class, according to On3’s Industry Rankings, and brings a level of needed experience to a reshuffled receiver room for rising-sophomore QB DJ Lagway.
Sturdivant, a former Cal transfer, has appeared in 40 total games including 30 starts over his four-year collegiate career on the West Coast. He also owned a streak of 26 consecutive games with a reception stretching back for his first week at Cal to Week 1 of this past season at UCLA.
At UCLA, Sturdivant appeared in 24 games over the past two seasons, compiling 58 receptions for 912 yards and six touchdowns. He appeared in 11 games this past season, recording 22 catches for 315 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Sturdivant was the Bruins’ second-best receiver in 2023, racking up 36 receptions for 597 yards and four scores through the air.
Florida has lost 16 players to the transfer portal since it opened Dec. 9, with defensive ends Kelby Collins and Jack Pyburn committing to Alabama and LSU, respectively, cornerback Ja’Keem Jackson committing to LSU and linebacker Deuce Spurlock committing to Liberty. Prior to Sturdivant’s commitment, the Gators’ lone transfer addition was Michigan punter Tommy Doman.
