In a significant roster update, former Notre Dame cornerback Jaden Mickey has officially transferred to Boise State University. Mickey, a 6-foot, 182-pound defensive back from Eastvale, California, began his collegiate career with the Fighting Irish in 2022. During his freshman year, he participated in 11 games, recording nine tackles and earning a starting position against USC. In the 2023 season, Mickey appeared in all 13 games, starting twice, and notably secured his first career interception, returning it 43 yards for a touchdown against Pittsburgh. After playing in Notre Dame’s first four games of the 2024 season, Mickey opted to redshirt and enter the transfer portal, seeking opportunities closer to home following personal challenges, including the loss of his mother in 2023. His move to Boise State is expected to bolster the Broncos’ secondary as they prepare for the upcoming season.
