
Ohio State University has announced a new seven-year contract for head football coach Ryan Day, valued at $12.5 million annually, making him the second-highest-paid coach in college football.
This agreement, which extends through 2031 season, comes shortly after the Buckeyes secured their ninth national championship. The contract terms are pending apal from Ohio State’s Board of Trustees.
Under Day’s leadership, Ohio State has achieved a 70-10 record over six seasons, boasting an FBS-best .8wning percentage. In 2024, Day joined the ranks of legendary Buckeye coaches by securing a national championship, further solidifying his legacy within the program.
With this new contract, Day annual compensation surpasses that of many of his peers, positioning him just behind Georgia’s Kirby Smart, who earns $13.28 million per year.
This significant investment underscores Ohio State’s commitment to maintaining its status as a powerhouse in college football under Day’s guidance.
