Former Alabama offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett has announced his commitment to Nebraska after entering the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Elijah Pritchett committed to Matt Rhule and the Nebraska Cornhuskers after a visit to the program. He entered the NCAA transfer portal on January 4, shortly after the Crimson Tide’s season concluded.
In the 2024 season, Elijah Pritchett appeared in all 12 games, starting 10 of them at right tackle. He was included on the Outland Trophy Watch List and earned recognition as an Outland Player of the Week following the Crimson Tide’s victory over Wisconsin.
Alabama ended the season with a 9-4 record, marking the first time since 2007—Nick Saban’s inaugural season as head coach—that the Crimson Tide failed to achieve at least 10 wins. Elijah Pritchett’s most recent appearance was in the ReliaQuest Bowl against Michigan.
In 2023, Elijah Pritchett played in 13 games as a reserve offensive tackle and contributed on special teams. The 6’6″, 312-pound lineman proved to be a key asset off the bench, helping Alabama achieve a 12-2 record and secure a spot in the College Football Playoff.
As a recruit, Pritchett was a four-star prospect out of Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia. He ranked as the No. 34 overall player and No. 4 offensive tackle in the 2022 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services
He’s now headed up north to play in the Big Ten with Nebraska. Matt Rhule and company have the Cornhuskers on the uptick heading into 2025. They finished this past season 7-6 and made their first bowl game since 2016.
