
Former Iowa State defensive tackle Tyler Onyedim has announced his commitment to Texas A&M, strengthening the Aggies’ defensive lineup.
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Tyler Onyedim recorded 33 tackles this past fall as a key player in the heart of the Cyclones’ defense. Over the last three seasons, he has been a reliable presence in Iowa State’s trenches.
Onyedim also had strong interest from Notre Dame, SMU and Texas among others.
This is a big pickup for head coach Mike Elko and the Aggies load up on the defensive front.
Tyler Onyedim, a skilled and versatile interior lineman, will join forces with Albert Regis and David DJ Hicks on the inside for Texas A&M. The Aggies have also secured significant wins during this Transfer Portal cycle at defensive end, adding standout talent such as Dayon Hayes—one of the top players at the position—from Colorado and Pittsburgh, T.J. Searcy from Florida, and Samuel M’Pemba from Georgia.
Tyler Onyedim, a native of the Lone Star State, honed his skills playing high school football at Foster High School in Richmond, Texas.
