TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama football’s annual A-Day spring game will undergo changes in 2025, according to head coach Kalen DeBoer. The announcement comes as the Crimson Tide adapts to roster management and player safety concerns while maintaining the tradition of the spring scrimmage.
DeBoer, who took over the program after Nick Saban’s retirement, revealed the planned modifications during a press conference on Monday. While he did not provide full details, he hinted at a revised format that could include adjustments to team rosters, play structure, and game length.
“We want to make sure we’re getting the most out of A-Day while also keeping our players healthy,” DeBoer said. “It will still be a great event for our fans, but we’re looking at ways to optimize the experience for both the team and supporters.”
Alabama’s A-Day game traditionally marks the conclusion of spring practice, drawing tens of thousands of fans to Bryant-Denny Stadium. With DeBoer implementing his coaching philosophy, the 2025 game could serve as a preview of the program’s evolution.Further details on the format changes are expected in the coming months as the Crimson Tide prepares for its first full season under DeBoer.
