Columbus, Ohio – A key player in Ohio State’s run for the College Football Playoff National Championship is leaving.
Via Instagram, running back Quinshon Judkins announced his decision to skip his senior year and enter the 2025 NFL Draft. He said;
“To Buckeye nation, thank you for taking in a kid from Alabama and continually showing your support,” he wrote. “I am forever a Buckeye and will carry my time spent on campus and playing at The Shoe with me for a lifetime.”
After transferring from Ole Miss, he played for OSU for one season.
He ran for 1,060 yards and 14 touchdowns while playing for the Buckeyes.
He equaled Derrick Henry (2015) for third-most touchdowns in the CFP era with five combined touchdowns from Ohio State’s victories over Texas in the semifinals and Notre Dame in the championship game.
During his two seasons with the Rebels, Judkins was one of the top running backs in the SEC. But in an attempt to win a national championship, he decided to transfer last summer.
Alongside standout TreVeyon Henderson in the backfield, Judkins took a smaller role when he arrived at Ohio State.
Together, the two gave offensive coordinator Chip Kelly and coach Ryan Day a potent combination. They led the Big Ten’s fourth-best rushing attack with a combined total of 2,076 running yards.
Alongside Judkins’ departure, Henderson uses up all of his eligibility.
James Peoples, the running back, will probably play a larger part in the offense the next season as a result.
After CJ Donaldson Jr. ran for 2,058 running yards and 30 touchdowns in three seasons at West Virginia, the Buckeyes also added him through the transfer portal.
