Alabama transfer wide receiver Caleb Odom is set to visit Colorado this weekend, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Odom was high school teammates with Julian Lewis, who is a quarterback signee for Colorado.
Odom, a 6-foot-5 true freshman, has three years of eligibility remaining. He played in all 12 regular-season games for the Crimson Tide this year, recording seven receptions for 65 yards. Odom also made his only start of the season during Alabama’s 52-7 victory over Mercer on November 16.
Earlier this season, Alabama wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard commended Odom’s development.
“I am so proud of that young man,” Shephard remarked. “I just want to make it clear—his growth as a player has been tremendous throughout this season, which is why he’s played as much as he has.”
“When you’re a bigger guy like he is, you really have to focus on improving your ability to get in and out of breaks more efficiently and move like a receiver,” Shephard explained. “He was initially recruited here as a tight end, so I’m extremely proud of how far he’s come. He’s a very reliable, tough kid, and he’s willing to do whatever we ask of him.”
Caleb Odom played high school football at Carrollton High School, where he was a four-star prospect. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, which averages data from all four major recruiting outlets, he was the No. 54 overall recruit and the No. 2 tight end in the 2024 recruiting class.
Notably, Odom was high school teammates with Julian Lewis, the No. 6 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class. After being committed to USC since August 2023, Lewis flipped his commitment to Colorado on November 21.
It’s possible that Odom is considering reuniting with his former teammate in Boulder, Colorado. After all, Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has turned the program into a top destination for players eager to play in an air-raid offense.
Colorado averaged 327.2 passing yards per game this season, ranking fourth in the country. With standout receiver Travis Hunter set to move on to the NFL after this season, Odom would be a valuable addition to Colorado’s receiving corps.
