Former USC receiver Duce Robinson has announced his commitment to transfer to Florida State, as reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Robinson, a former five-star recruit and two-sport superstar, is the fourth-ranked receiver in the transfer portal, according to On3’s Industry Transfer Portal Rankings, and chose the Seminoles over interest from Arizona State.
The former five-star recruit was ranked 23rd overall in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which combines ratings and rankings from all four major recruiting media outlets. Recruited as a tight end, he was listed as the top TE recruit in the country on his On3 profile.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound receiver caught 23 passes for 396 yards and five touchdowns during the regular season. He most recently hauled in three receptions for 63 yards against Notre Dame in Week 14.
As a baseball player at USC, Robinson played in four games and got two starts. He had a batting average of .167 with a .333 slugging percentage.
Before the current season began, Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley opened up on Robinson’s unique true freshman season in 2023-24 balancing both football and baseball.
“I thought he handled it pretty well,” Lincoln Riley said. There were definitely some challenges just built in this year just being the first year and obviously baseball’s had to move around a little bit with their stadium under construction. But I thought the baseball coaches, Coach Stank [Andy Stankiewicz] and all those guys, did a great job. Strength coaches did a great job.”
