
Tennessee’s shooting guard, Chaz Lanier, has been honored as the 2025 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Men’s Basketball Newcomer of the Year. Lanier, a Nashville native, transferred to the Volunteers from North Florida, where he averaged 19.7 points per game and earned First-Team All-ASUN honors in the 2023–24 season.
In his inaugural season with Tennessee, Lanier emerged as the team’s leading scorer, averaging 17.8 points per game. His consistent performance earned him multiple SEC Player of the Week accolades throughout the season.
