Ohio State running back Sam Williams-Dixon has exited the transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reported on Wednesday evening. He had entered the portal last month.
In his debut season with the Buckeyes, Sam Williams-Dixon recorded seven carries for 53 yards.
However, opportunities were limited in a backfield dominated by national standouts TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, both of whom had stellar seasons for Ohio State.
Henderson rushed for 925 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Judkins was just behind him with 924 yards and 10 touchdowns. Despite their success, Williams-Dixon evidently felt his best option was to explore new opportunities elsewhere.
Prior to enrolling at Ohio State, Sam Williams-Dixon was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 766 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class. He checked in as the No. 63 running back in his class and the No. 29 overall player from the state of Ohio, hailing from Millersburg (OH) Pickerington North.

Ohio State RB Sam Williams-Dixon withdraws from transfer portal
Ohio State running back Sam Williams-Dixon has withdrawn from the transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos learned on Wednesday evening. He entered the portal last month.
In his first season with the Buckeyes, Sam Williams-Dixon logged seven carries for 53 yards.
However, carries were hard to come by in a backfield that featured a pair of national stars in TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins. Both had monster seasons for the Buckeyes
Henderson ran for 925 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Judkins was a smidge behind him at 924 yards and 10 touchdowns. Regardless, Williams-Dixon clearly felt his best play was to seek a new opportunity elsewhere.

Jeremiah Smith is a phenom for the Buckeyes
Although he has to stay in college for two more seasons, Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith already has franchises waiting for the chance to have him in the NFL.
Joel Klatt set the ceiling on Smith again last week while on ‘The Herd’. In talking about Smith, Klatt expects him to be the best receiver in the sport within his first few years at the next level with him thinking he could earn double-digit recognitions overall as an All-Pro.
“He’s got to play two more years of college football which means, in four years, Jeremiah Smith is the best receiver in football. He’s the No. 1 on any team in the NFL,” Klatt stated. “Smith could be an all-time great, all-time great wide receiver, right. I truly believe he will be a 10-time All-Pro. I know that, like – I don’t want to put the cart before the horse. I don’t want to put too much pressure on this guy.
He has a chance to be an all-time great. He’s got a chance to be one of the greatest wide receivers that we’ve ever seen.”
That comes following his true freshman year with the Buckeyes. In 16 games as their leading receiver, Smith had record-breaking stats with 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns.
