Tuscaloosa, AL – The Alabama Crimson Tide delivered a dominant performance on Saturday night, dismantling the Georgia Bulldogs 88-67 at Coleman Coliseum. While the victory solidified Alabama’s stronghold at home, concerns are growing about Georgia’s struggles and Alabama’s ability to maintain consistency.
From the opening tip, Alabama controlled the tempo, using an aggressive defense and sharp perimeter shooting to build an early double-digit lead. Guard Mark Sears led the charge with 22 points, while forward Grant Nelson contributed 15 points and 8 rebounds. The Bulldogs, plagued by turnovers and poor shooting, never found their rhythm, trailing by as many as 25 in the second half.
Despite the win, Alabama head coach Nate Oats emphasized the need for continued improvement. “We played well, but we can’t get complacent,” Oats said. “There are areas we need to clean up, especially defensively.”
For Georgia, the loss raises new concerns about their postseason hopes. The Bulldogs have now dropped three of their last four games, with head coach Mike White calling for urgency. “We have to regroup fast,” White stated. “Our energy and execution weren’t where they needed to be.”
Alabama looks to carry this momentum forward, while Georgia faces mounting pressure as the SEC race intensifies.
