
Georgia Bulldogs edge rusher Damon Wilson has decided to transfer to the Missouri Tigers, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Wilson’s choice to join Missouri comes as a bit of a surprise. He previously visited Ohio State, with speculation suggesting he might head to Columbus. However, that move didn’t materialize, and he is now set to suit up as a Missouri Tiger.
Damon Wilson played high school football at Venice High School in Florida, where he earned a five-star rating in the Class of 2023, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was ranked as the third-best edge rusher and the 20th overall player in his recruiting class.
Since joining Georgia in 2023, Damon Wilson has appeared in 26 games across two seasons. During this period, he recorded 26 total tackles, including seven tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. Additionally, he forced two fumbles while playing for the Bulldogs.
The Missouri Tigers recently concluded a season in which they ranked 50th nationally in sacks, averaging 2.15 per game for a total of 28. They also ranked 63rd in tackles for loss, with an average of 5.39 per game, totaling 70 for the season. While these numbers are respectable, there is optimism that Damon Wilson can help elevate these stats further for the Tigers in the upcoming season.
